I was told that the Berettta 390 is not so good but the 391 is really good. You could buy a Charles Daly for a lot less money and its really a ggood gun. Almost as good as a Browning. 12 ga all ya got to do is read the latest post on the Browning

I don't own one but I'm sure either will work good. Beretta isn't in the firearms market to rip people off.

I think the Bennelli is a great gun its fast and light and its a good gun even if its recoil operated.

Now recomending a charles daly over a browning or beretta is stupid you have no hard facts that the CD will last longer they have only been in production for 10 years. I have a Browning A-5 from the 1930's it works fine never once been repaired. There are hundreds of bad things said about CD's. I don't hear bad things about brownings and berettas anywhere near that of CD complants.

The Beretta 390, 391, Benelli, and the Browning are fantastic top of the line semi autos, you can't go wrong with any of them. The CD is a cheap semi auto that is not even comparable to the above. Whoever said that "the 390 wasn't so good" is spewing garbage and has no credibility. The gas operated gun(Beretta, Browning Gold) will have less recoil, and the recoil operated gun (Benelli, Browning A5) will be easier to keep clean. I don't know if you can say which one is better, it's more a matter of personal preference.

No the CD is the BIGGEST waste of money out there. HUGE difference, The best Low cost auto I have yet to see would be teh Baikal mp153 3.5".

The Beretta AL 390 and AL391 are both great guns for sporting use. It seems they have The biggest fan base for semi autos. The A390 at wally world is also a good shotgun but lacks a few of the goodies that their normal line up has. But then it is also in the $550 range and that is a great price.

The Charels Daly is Being retured at Warp speed at Wally's, They wont tell you if you ask them, but if you can catch a sales person in a candid moment they'll spill the beans. Just like the old man says,"you get what you pay for". The 390's major problem was the reciever shape, as most of we Yank's seem to like rounded recievers. I'm sure that the 391 is a good gun, as most Beretta's are, but as with cars they all make a lemon once in a while. I always wait about three years on the new ones, and let them get the bugs out.

I agree. I own a Silver Mallard. A great gun. I shoot trap. I have a 30inch barell 12ga. Who ever said that it is bad is wrong. it is a light gun, easy swing, reliable. Comes with a medium rib. I highly recomend this gun. I have shot the Urika a lot of times. I would not recommend for those of u who shoot trap. Too light and swings too easy. The 390 Silver mallard is not as easy cleaning as a browning..yes but, my preference was the 390. I shoot trap with Imp. Mod. #8 shot 2 3/4 dram. Great until the 23 yrd line, then ya use 7 1/2

The 390 and 391 are both extremely good guns, with the 391 probably being favored by most people. Stay away from Charles Daly shotguns (I have personally seen several break after just a few boxes of shells were fired through it). Also, stay away from Benellis. They are very good guns, but they kick like a mule, and if you ever want to shoot lighter loads (such as a AA featherweight) the Benelli will give problems cycling. They also aren't balanced well for clays (for most shooters). Good luck! -bear

Yes wayne, i said, some people like me prefer a shotgun that is not too light. That includes a long barrel. That way you dont jerk a lot or have an execive swing. Did you have a Silver Mallard? It is a very nice gun. Good Luck! jm
