I've been shooting shotguns since I was about 11-12 years old (mostly skeet/trap and some sporting clays) and am 25 now. I've always used my father's guns which have been different over the years as he's sold and bought different guns (beretta 391 gold sporting, 686 sporting, browning gran lightning, browning XS skeet). I'm interested in getting my own gun now that will be used 99% for clay games and possibly 1% for hunting. I get to hunt maybe once every year or every other year but have the opportunity to shoot clays at least every week or two. I am looking for a good clays gun primarily that I can take hunting if I need to on the rare occasion I go.

I definitely want an O/U because I don't want to pick up shells (we reload). The GTS seems like a good option, and I'm open to other suggestions as well. Thanks.

Givo8, The GTS you have considered will suit very well for the purposes you will use it for. I guess the question here is how much do you want to spend? There are numerous Browning O/U's you can use for hunting and clays. So how fancy do you want to go? :)

Givo8, you may need to consider what game you plan to hunt. Most Browning target guns are not chambered for 3" shells. Beretta offers models that are and, in the same price range as the GTS.

The GTS is chambered for 3" shells and I believe would be hard to beat for your stated needs.

i purchased the GTS after several stress full months of reviewing clay guns. I can afford any gun I want but took the advice of a good friend and great shooter. "buy the gun that fits, not the gun you want" . I have not been disappointed with the GTS, fits like a glove. The Berretta is what I wanted, but love the GTS and shoot weekly with it.
