For all you guys out there who has had a bad experience with the Benelli Super sport, please let me know, because I have a Benelli Super Sport and I have had no trouble at all. I like to know what the cause of all this trouble is all about. Let me know. Thnaks

If you have had no trouble with yours, why do you want to know what the trouble is? Just be glad you got one of the ones that work.

There have been two issues with Benelli autos and they are jams with light loads and the premium price compared with other auto, such as Browning or Beretta. I can't really address the first issue, but on the second they are certainly more expensive. Most of the positive comments have been from hunters, using heavier loads. Let us know your experience after a few thousand rounds. Good luck and BE SAFE.

I know 2 people who had these guns, I stress HAD. And I know one who still does.
Two had problems cycling loads of any weight or quality, whatsoever. Both had them sent back to the manufacturer who said nothing was wrong. They were able to trade them in at a nasty loss of value, but still got enough for them to get a better semi-auto. One bought a Remington 1100 and the other a Browning Gold. The SS cost nearly 1500 dollars and these repalcement guns of better quality ar nearly half that. Go figure.
The third guy I know with one still has had no issues with it aside from the period failure to extract

Interesting side note about the SS.
The guys at my local Gander Mtn. say that even though they are a Benelli Dealer, their particular department manager will not stock the SS because of the high percentage of returns for service... go figure.

Well they got rave reviews but so did the Titanic??? But they sure are expensive for a gun with that kind of reputaion. Bummer. Whats the world coming to...next we could see a gun from India called a Voo Doo for 239.00. Spartan?? Condor??? The Mossberg Kahn import??? While the lines of what is relaible and what isnt relaible get blurred? Where do you draw the line. How much of a headache until a shotgun isnt worth owning anymore? Wow maybe someone should start a thread on whats the 10 most reliable shotguns? Pump..Semi Auto and O/U!!!!!

I've been through 10 thousand rounds now and I must say it only jammed once, and I know it was only because I didn't clean it for about a 1000 rounds. I must say I've shot heavy loads all the way down to 7/8 oz. loads and no trouble at all. The gun doesn't get dirty very much, but when you take the trigger assembly out of the gun it is a little tricky getting it back.

I have a Sport II which is the same except with wood stock and foreend. I've never had a problem with jams. I love the gun because of it balance, fit and how clean it is. Everyone has different tastes, but I like this gun better than the Beretta 391 which feels clumsy in comparison and sounds like somebody is slamming the silverware drawer when it cycles.

For what is worth now, the guys I spoke of that had problems with the SS, both had first market runs of that gun. I would think and hope, Benelli has squared the model away after a few good years on the market for this design.

I have shot 35,000+ shells in my Super Sport in the last 15 months and it has never failed me. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

According to my math thats around 3 boxes a day for 455 days straight or 23 boxes roughly every weekend straight for 15 months...thats a lot of shoting....dude. Are you sure about those numbers? Is that what a clay shooter shoots in 15 months? Wow thats a lot!

I am quite sure of the numbers. I shoot between 500 and 1000 per week. If you think that's a lot, spend a single afternoon with Tre's Sides!

Not really what I meant...I meant that no matter what you pay Tre', he will put a serious hurtin' on you. Expect to shoot a bare minimum of one flat per hour.

There have always been people who think that the more money you throw at a problem the easier it will get to solve it. People who think that answers to questions must be bought. For them there have always been people ready to fill that need by charging money. Its as old as time itself yet for the rest of us there are plenty of free resources that are just as good if not better which equal the same results. The greatest lesson you are learning is one your not even aware of and that is that your paying for something others get for free.

Well guys after so many rounds my Benelli Super Sport finally giving me Trouble. It seems like there is not enough energy to slide the bolt all the way back. I must say i'm using very light loads and I'm using inexpensive loads $15/flat. I've tried some different ammo and the gun works fine. I've been using the Fiocchi 1 oz loads and that cycles fine. It's just the ammo, not the gun.
Thanks Biagio:-}}

I have had my super sport for almost a year and love it . Lots of guys bas benellis just be cause. Very light, very fast gun. very smooth. A pleasure to shoot . Not clunky heavy like the rems and browns. I think this problems people have are shooting the very light home loads. I know a lot of guys that can't handle the kick in the previous owned browns and rems and load real light. The only thing my SS would not cycle are the kids/lady loads that remington makes. they are very light 9more of a introduction shell for kids and lady shooters; I won't be shooting those shells, so no prolem here. i would recomend one to anyone. they are pricey but very well made. Very easy to maintain a big plus. Very easy and quick to clen after a day on the range.
If you have not held one please do.

well i guess if someone you konw is having trouble with light loads cycleing through smoothly then they/u/both should have read about the firearm better. Benelli suggests no less than 3 dram and 1-1/8oz. plus (not directed at the specific reply i'm doing but to a couple above)...stop shooting crappy ammo and buy somthing worth a damn like AA's. or learn to reload the right way with ur (im guessing) 600JR. Ive shot nothing but Benelli in comps and wont ever change. i guess all i'm trying to say is that if you buy a top of the line gun then complain about $15/flat ammo not cycleing then you pry shouldnt have bought such a high end gun. Theres actually a saying for people like that..a whistle gopher.....(wistle noise) "whats that go for"

I think the point is that most feel a "top of line gun" as Benelli claims they are SHOULD be able to handle anything. My big clunky Beretta Xtrema can. My $400 Stoeger M-2000 can too. So what's Benellis problem?

I am on my 2nd super sport,I shot one box of 1/8 3 drams for break in from then on 7/8 1185 fps and 1 0z. @ 1185 and never have a problem with ejection or recoil. I sent the gun to Briley for a trigger job @ 4lbs of pull, super crisp trigger. I also shoot a Beretta Urica 2 and a 391 sporting clay

I have an SS and a 70 year old Browning A5 - I use 32g shells in the A5 and 24s in the SS - I know which my shoulder prefers to shoot!! I have had the A5 for about 20 years - wouldn't part with it for anything...but I love to shoot the SS
