They are a Brazilian Company. You don't see many of their guns around here, but one of their imports you may recognize.

The Stoeger Condor.

As to whether that gun is of any quality...? Go back and read the 200 post Condor Competition thread.

Don't know much about the Boito other than what the internet has to say. I personally have a problem with some of these limited brand guns in that service can be a real problem and resale is minimal. I would stick with the brand names. Don't interpret this that they are inferior, but I just don't know anyone that has them in my area. Have fun and BE SAFE.

I acquired a 20ga.on a trade from a friend, 6 yrs. ago, and that's all I use today, for small game. I own lots of shotguns, but I would rather hunt with the Boito over&under than any of the others.

I'm a gunsmithing and the Boito shotguns at least the older models are very crude inside and also very hard to find parts for. If I was wanting a over/under I would strongly recommed looking at one of the name brand guns such as Browning etc. You may pay more for it but in the long run you will be much better off for service, parts and over all durability. Not to mention Brownings or a better built shotgun will last a lot longer. And for those of you who shoot trap and or sporting clays how many of these CHEAP over/unders do you see out on the shooting ranges. Simply said they just don't hold up as well and will start to break down then its up to people in my profession to try to fix them and/or find parts!

I have a 12ga side-by and I have never had any issues with it. My father gave it to me, and his godfather gave it to him something like 40 years ago, so I know it's pretty old, but I don't know much beyond that about it. What I *do* know is that aside from a little pitting in the bluing, the gun is clean, accurate, and works like a charm after all these years. I look forward to giving it to my son one day. Hope that helps, even though the original thread started years ago.

I was surprised to find others asking questions about Boito. My o/u 12 has markings saying S&S Kresge, that was what is now Kmart, anyone else have discount chain store name on theirs? Curious. I've had this in the closet for years I think I last fired it in the early 80's

Striper, I have had a "Kmart" Boito since the late 70's. Nice O/U 12ga. simple to clean, reliable on the trap line. Breaking mine out for Pheasant this year. See if it can keep up with the Benelli. I think I paid $75.00 for it back then. If you ever want to let it go drop me a line.

Johnny B, Don't let the price fool you. This is a good quality gun. Just like anything else you have to take care of it. as far as Slugs, don't even think about it, this is shotgun that was made for game birds, not deer. If you have the chance to pick one up for a good price, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Boito is Stoeger. It's debatable whether they are "good quality" guns. Maybe an acceptable gun for the price point. But good quality? Not so sure about that.

I have had my Boito 12 GA O/U since 1983. I hunt for white-wing and morning doves in south Texas almost every year. I used it on Sept. 10th/11th of this year. I have used it for pheasant hunting in South Dakota the last four years. Headed to SD October 21, 2011. Never had any problems with it. Excellent shotgun!

Does anybody have a fair market value on a Boito 12 gauge over/under. My dad bought me this I would guess back in late 70s. It has been fired maybe 50 times if that. Has S.S. Kresge on barrel. Just wondering. Still in perfect condition. Thanks.

Hi i just picked up a 12 ga boito with dual triggers. bo you have to pull the fwd trigger first or can you do either one when ever you want? it doesnt seem to hit the shell hard enough if you do the back one first. thanks for your reply an info.

Bought my oldest son a Boito 12 o/u back in the 70's and it's been a my home for the last 20 yrs. Took it out for pheasant hunting the last few times cause I'm old and it's light. I love it. Can't miss with the thing. Like the guy said, it's crude, poorly finished, but tight and functions without a hitch. Paid $70 bucks for it and they sell for about $150.

Front trigger is the bottom barrel Modified. Back trigger is top barrel Full. Use as needed, in any order. Someone mentioned slugs...don't ever recommend slugs thru a full choke.

There's no physical reason to not use slugs in a full choke. I prefer foster style rifled slugs in my Boito s/s, but I'd use them in any 12 gauge with any choke. There's always been controversy on this subject, but do you think companies such as Remington or Winchester would sell slug loads if there was any chance at all of exploding a gun in good condition?
